Selling semen

I am wanting to sell semen on my york boar. Well i was reading on NSR that they wont register any litter out of my boar unless i do the color test? Is that right or am i misreading?

In order for a You to be able to register litters sired by your boar. The boar must be Stress tested and DNA Banked with NSR. Hamps would be the only breed that the Color gene would have to be recorded. You can have NSR mail you a blotter card and you put a sample of blood from your boar on the card and fill out the info needed and send payment for the stress test and DNA Banking and mail it back to NSR and in a few weeks you will recieve the results from the stress test and you boars DNA will be on file at NSR. It is a real easy process.

Well i new about the stress test i went threw that with my first york boar and litter. I was just concerned about the color test. lol i guess i just misunderstood

amanda hes right u can also use semen on the card it ends up being close to 30 bucks i think also with selling semen most want to be a ssured the semen there getting is free of disease, that testing for prss and pcv is what cost me the most money expensive to keep up with, i have my boars tested every other month, if your not moving much semen it get costly u have to overnight the samples to the lab so shipping alone is about 50 bucks a wack when you count in a coller you dont get back

i know what the cost to stress test is i have dont that part before. WHAT i am concerned about is wether or not i have to color test my york before i can have any litter registered out of him by AI

as the above stated you just have to have stress test and dna banked with the nsr, also you havet to get the new blood cards they will no longer take the old style , just since you said you wanted to sell semen i thought i would give you a few "insides" since i do it twice a week just trying to help

well i am sorry if you dont think i aint grateful about help. i need all the help i can get. I think my york boar has alot to offer so i am just trying to get him out. he is vac for everything. And i understand where your coming from. I have been in breeding horses for a long time. In april i am fixing to drop 1000.00 just to bred on mare. what i am trying to say everything cost lol. not to sound like i am made of money I AINT but i am wanting to go for the best i can.

cool......ive been the horse road also,breeding mares can sometimes be the same as pouring bottles of 250 dollar semen down the drain cant it? lol i understand what your saying. like i said berfore wasnt meaning you werent greatful for help i wish you the best of luck selling semen, for the small guy is a gamble but seems you are like me you bought the boar to first cover your own sows. as long as i get that done mission accomplished!

LMAO yea. i have alot of "irons in the Fire" I am trying to get my horse herd back up to where it was going lol and get that breeding gpart going again and also now have the pigs lmao my plate is full lol. this summer in between pig shows and work i am going to try barrel racing again lol
