| i hope to see this year that people have moved away from the psss durocs or have at least totaly outcrossed one side of the pedigrees to them. they make nice hogs but come on. we used gator at shipleys he has a real nice red boar line up we tried a couple times from boars from top cut but couldnt get anything settled. i hope to see a red boar emerge out of the rough so to speak this spring. | |

| I know i aint big named but i am hoping my boar does pretty good altho he has only bred one gilt. My boar probably goes back to PSSS stuff but not to up close he would be a good outcross if this litter turns out. | |

| i dont think atleast any or hardly any at all can argue that psss and rw durocs have been up top with there genetics. i think shipleys for 2011 might have a pretty good line up with some of their new durocs. | |

| Well in my oppinion i dont think there's 1 Duroc Boar that does'nt have PSSS or RW Genetics in their pedigree.. what can we say the're damn good genes..but it will be awesome to find one out there that emerges from no where to make an impact this spring.. | |

| Well I agree trivswine, the Olsens and Mappes can't be forgotten as they are in a classs of their own for being, shall I say, the foundation breeders that started the recognition of duroc breed. | |

| Thats exciting, from what I have seen last spring those Detox pigs are really good. We have 2 litters coming on the 7th and 18th of January. We figured we couldn't afford not to use him. Cody | |

| Mega Watt: Well we ended up only having 2 pigs total, both gilts. They look really good. He added bone, a little base width, and a surprising amount of width up front. They are really tall fronted and attractive at a week old. Big even toes, and decent sized foot. Also they seem to be sound. As of now the main thing I would change is take him to something with LOTS of curvature up front, as they seem to be a tad straight off their front legs. I am very happy with them at the moment, but again you never know at this age. The reports on his other pigs have been outstanding from what I have caught in the rumor mill.
Detox: We had a litter that is a week old today. 12 born, 11 alive, and we are down to 9. We had 7 gilts 5 boars. We got one half belted leopard gilt, one red belt, two off belted, 2 blue butts, and the rest white. This mating was to belted Lickety Split x Kodiak x Crossbred sow (class winner 2009 ISF 4-h show). As of now they are showing lots of base width, massive tops, and some have excellent bone. We have the more "exciting" mating due the 17th. We feel like those will be the better pair. I am satisfied with the results of this litter at the moment. They are changing every day, as the Mega Watts have not changed a whole lot, and are two times the size being a small litter and two days older. I will keep you all posted on them. I am looking forward to a good set this year. If anyone has any questions, or is looking for some pigs feel free to give me a call/email anytime!

| The second litter is Detox X Gun Shy X Lickety Split ( Gilt mentioned above). She is definitely the more "showy" one, blown apart underneath already, sound, cool fronted, she just needs a shot of bone and foot which he has shown he will add. I'm really excited. Then we have a Power Wagon X Twice Denied X Cadillac (sow that had the mega watt litter) Also due tomorrow. Tuesday we have a Homer (Standback X Moonshine X Homebrew Litter Mate to Enema) X Special Reserve. Wednesday we have a Mountain X Twice Denied X Whiskey Joe X Cadillac. Should be an interesting week!
